Update on my Dad || Oct 2021
Friends who have been following the journey on my dad’s health THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love, thank you for your prayer, thank you for walking with us through a road that has been long and hard.
These last months have brought the clearance that my dad has needed to move forward to accept a new kidney should one become available! After many doctors appointments and health checks, it has been determined that he is healthy enough to manage surgery and heal well. (Had he had a donor before this point, it would have taken months of clearance before he could go into surgery.)
We still are asking and praying for a kidney donor. At this point, a kidney donor is his final chance at being taken off of dialysis and moving towards a more full life.
A common question answered:
You do not have to be a blood match. If you choose to donate, your kidney will go to someone on the list who is watching for a kidney and my dad will get the kidney that matches his blood type.
